My visit to the Louvre Museum in Paris felt less like a touristic stop and more like stepping into a universe shaped by centuries of human creativity. Standing before the iconic glass pyramid, I realized that the Louvre is not simply a museum.. it is a vast memory of the world, housed within walls that once formed the royal palace of France.

Originally built as a medieval fortress and later transformed into a royal residence, the Louvre became a public museum in 1793. Today, it is home to thousands of masterpieces representing the great civilizations of humanity

Mesopotamian reliefs, Greek and Roman sculptures, Renaissance icons, and treasures from across Asia, Africa, and Europe. Walking through its long corridors and grand galleries feels like traveling through time itself.

Yet among all these wonders, the Egyptian Antiquities Department holds a uniquely powerful presence. It is one of the largest collections of Egyptian heritage outside Cairo, displaying more than six thousand artifacts that narrate the story of a civilization that shaped the foundations of human history.

The moment I entered the Egyptian galleries, I felt a familiar sense of belonging—an almost spiritual connection between the past and the present. Majestic statues of Amun, Ramesses, and Horemheb stand as guardians of millennia-old wisdom. Nearby, the finely carved sarcophagi of the Middle Kingdom reveal the precision and symbolism of ancient craftsmanship, while everyday objects—cosmetics, tools, jewelry, and wooden boats—offer a glimpse into the rhythm of life along the Nile.

Among the most captivating pieces is the celebrated Seated Scribe, whose expressive eyes seem to bridge thousands of years, reminding us of the humanity behind the history.

For an Egyptian visitor like myself, walking through this collection brings a mixture of pride and nostalgia. These artifacts, which have traveled across continents, continue to share the story of a civilization whose influence endures across cultures and generations.
